Configure an Aparat live stream in OBS

Choose direct streaming or multistreaming first

For an Aparat-only broadcast, paste Aparat’s server and key directly into OBS. For Aparat plus other destinations, paste the iobase server and private key into OBS, then save Aparat’s credentials as an iobase destination.

Do not mix the two paths. OBS always publishes to the next hop: Aparat in the direct path, or iobase in the multistream path.

Step-by-step OBS setup

Open Aparat’s live dashboard and prepare a live event. Copy the Stream URL and Stream Key shown for that event. The key authorizes broadcasting to your channel and must not be published.

• In OBS, open Settings → Stream.
• Choose Custom as the service.
• For direct streaming, paste Aparat’s URL and key. For multistreaming, paste iobase’s URL and key.
• Open Settings → Output, select your bitrate and set Keyframe Interval to 2 seconds.
• Apply changes, start streaming, and wait for the correct dashboard preview.
• For a private test, select Aparat’s Experimental category; its official guide says only you can view that category.
• Check picture and audio before selecting the real category or publicizing the live event.

Practical starting settings

Aparat’s official guidance uses 720p at about 3000 Kbps as a suggested setup, a two-second keyframe frequency, and no more than 70% of measured upload capacity. Your actual stable capacity and account settings still decide the safe value.

Leave room in your upload connection

A speed test reports a moment, while a broadcast must remain stable for minutes or hours. Aparat advises setting bitrate to at most 70% of upload speed. Test over the same connection and time window you will use for the event.

For iobase Source Copy to Aparat, keep OBS at H.264/AAC, two-second keyframes, and no more than 50 FPS as the product’s conservative compatibility recommendation. Choose transcoding if the source must use different settings for another platform.

Troubleshoot connection, blank video, and dropped frames

Separate network failures from format failures. OBS dropped frames usually indicate the route or upload cannot sustain the configured bitrate. A platform dashboard that connects but cannot play often points to codec or keyframe settings.

• Authentication error: regenerate or carefully re-copy the current stream key.
• Dropped frames: use Ethernet, stop competing uploads, and lower bitrate.
• Connected but blank: verify H.264/AAC and a two-second keyframe interval.
• Unexpected old event: confirm you copied credentials from the intended Aparat live event.
• iobase output failed: inspect that destination’s status without exposing its key.

A safe test routine

• Record locally for one minute to catch scene or audio issues.
• Run the stream in Aparat’s Experimental category for at least 10 minutes.
• Watch OBS dropped frames and the Aparat preview simultaneously.
• Test fast motion, microphone peaks, and scene changes.
• Regenerate a stream key immediately if it was exposed.
